In 2025 invite you to the 2nd Annual outdoor Summer Movement Camp in Lake Como, Italy. It is a communal event nested in the hills overlooking the lake, where participants train, research, eat and live together.
This 2-week event will be led by a team of the core teachers from the collective, namely Kim Amankwaa, Cassandre Cantillon, Lewis Cooke, Winston Reynold, Lia Ujčič and Tom English, working in collaboration with the amazing organising team from InmoveSystem Project to share over 80 hours of training and research, alongside beautiful mountain walks, hearty communal meals and a scenic camping location for resting between classes.
We will be diving deep into movement forms, meditation practices, evolutionary physiology and biomechanics, nervous system regulation and applied philosophical frameworks, alongside a healthy dose of complex partnering and grappling, soft acrobatics, dynamic mobility and improvisation/imagery work.
We will use the beautiful outdoor environments of the local area to complexify our daily practice, and to detail our exploration of a 'seasonal practice'.

Our educational programs aim to develop and disseminate embodied research from the forefront of scientific and philosophical thought in a relevant and accessible way in order to enrich the practices of our students and collaborators.
The teaching team for this event is Tina Afiyan Breiova, Kim Amankwaa, David Kam & Winston Reynolds.
Full teacher bios can be found on our home page by clicking on their respective photos.

-Where-
The Summer Movement Camp is held in the beautiful Nidrino Sports Centre, located on top of the hills overlooking Lake Como, Italy.
The Centre has several different training spaces, including an airy wooden-floored dojo with window walls overlooking the lake, an open-air astroturf and a big covered tennis field.
Hearty, vegetarian food catering will be provided on training days 3x a day, for breakfast, lunch and dinner (weekends are left free to explore the region and are hence self-catered).
Participants will camp in the facilities, making it an all-encompassing experience.
Tents and camping gear are available for rental, and are included in the price of the event (//upon request).
The Centre is easily accessible from the local Como train station, itself connecting to the Milan Central Station and the different airport hubs.

-What to Expect-
Over the week we will explore the principles of movement and training that underlie our Ferus Animi // Terra Nova research methodology. It will involve:
-
A daily 'form' practice of mobilisations and activations to explore movement nourishment for health, athleticism, and longevity.
-
Mindfulness- and meditation- based practices to reflect upon our cognitive and embodied relationship with ourselves, in interaction with our environments.
-
Collaborative and combative partnering games, to locate and refine our problem solving blindspots.
-
Scientific theory around performance psychology, evolutionary physiology, behavioural neuroscience, and functional biomechanics, to ground our training in existing lines of enquiry and thought.
-
Physically challenging and mentally stimulating movement puzzles, designed to expose us to a daily dose of functional failure.
-
The cultivation of a rigorous and resourceful learning environment and a positive motivational climate, in which participants are invited to explore the training propositions in an optimal developmental manner, guided by both the research and our collective instincts.
