Our Mission Statement

Ferus Animi // Terra Nova is a specialist movement organisation based in the United Kingdom and Europe.

Our mission is to bring education in movement, meditation, and wilderness practices to the widest possible audience. Through innovative educational programmes, artistic collaborations, and research-led practice, we seek to make high-quality knowledge and training accessible, relevant, and impactful.

Our practice-as-research methodology draws upon the fields of neuroscience, evolutionary physiology, functional biomechanics, performance psychology, and applied philosophy. We integrate insights from scientific research and artistic practice to develop educational experiences that support human development, creativity, performance, and wellbeing.

Artistically, we provide movement direction and specialist consultancy for projects across a range of media, including film, television, theatre, dance, and circus. Alongside this work, our educational programmes identify, explore, and disseminate pioneering research from the forefront of scientific and artistic thought through workshops, intensives, lectures, and collaborative learning environments.

Our Not-For-Profit Status

We operate as a science-led, community-minded, not-for-profit organisation limited by shares and registered in the United Kingdom.

As part of this commitment, our Articles of Association formally require that any surplus generated through our activities is reinvested into the organisation and applied solely in furtherance of our objectives. No profits are distributed to directors, members, or private individuals.

Income generated through programme fees, artistic commissions, partnerships, sponsorship, and donations is used to:

  • Develop and deliver educational programmes and resources;

  • Support research, curriculum development, and knowledge dissemination;

  • Increase accessibility through bursaries, subsidised opportunities, and community initiatives;

  • Sustain artistic and interdisciplinary collaborations and excellence;

  • Strengthen the long-term resilience and international impact of the organisation.

We have chosen a not-for-profit structure because it reflects our values and ensures that resources are directed back into our mission rather than private gain.

Every workshop attended, partnership formed, commission undertaken, and donation received contributes directly to the continued development of our educational and artistic work.

By supporting Ferus Animi // Terra Nova, you are helping to advance accessible education, interdisciplinary research, artistic innovation, and community engagement for the benefit of current and future generations of practitioners.
